GIS Analyst
As a GIS Analyst at Resource Data, you will independently produce GIS products and analyses that help clients make informed business and operational decisions. You’ll work with project teams and stakeholders to apply spatial analysis, cartographic principles, data management, and web GIS technologies to solve spatially related business questions. This role provides opportunities to contribute to client projects through independent analysis, high-quality GIS deliverables, and practical GIS solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert CAD drawings and other source data into GIS-compatible formats for use in mapping, analysis, and enterprise GIS environments
- Configure and execute geoprocessing tools and models for spatial analysis and GIS data processing, including vector and raster operations
- Apply cartographic principles to create effective and aesthetically pleasing printed and digital maps, reports, and figures
- Load and manage data in file and enterprise geodatabases from a variety of formats and complete metadata according to best practices or client standards
- Configure low-code GIS web products using out-of-the-box capabilities and widgets
- Manage groups, users, roles, content organization, and item settings in online and enterprise GIS environments
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of direct experience in a similar GIS role, or demonstrated capability to perform the key responsibilities of the position
- Experience using Esri Experience Builder to configure and develop web GIS applications
- Proficiency with GIS software for data management, spatial analysis, and cartography
- Ability to communicate analysis results clearly through maps, reports, and technical documentation
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with clients in a consulting role
- Industry experience in utility GIS environments
